Pike County Cemeteries (page 2)

Located in Section 27 on the south side of I-72. This cemetery is the resting place of some New Philadelphia residents and their families. 78 recorded burials though depressions and funeral markers suggest there are many more.

Located in the southwest quarter of the northeast quarter of Section 26, southeast of the site of New Philadelphia. This cemetery is the resting place of Free Frank McWorter and much of his family along with many New Philadelphia residents. Frank McWorter was the self-freed slave who established New Philadelphia, the first town in the United States platted and legally registered by an African American. He freed 16 family members with the money he received selling town plots.

Located in the northwest corner of the northwest quarter of Section 14, two miles south of Beverly (an Adams county town). 69 recorded burials though there are likely many more unmarked, marked by creek rocks, or the marker is hidden.

Located in the northwest corner of the northwest quarter of Section 19. 48 recorded burials and at least 12 more unmarked or marked with creek rocks.

Clingsmith: Located in the northeast quarter of Section 19. The cemetery has disappeared from view. The building of the railroad turned up small pieces.

Hazelrigg: A small family plot located in the northwest quarter of Section 35, just visible from Highway 106. 8 recorded burials. 

Peterson: A small family plot located in the northeast quarter of Section 36. 5 recorded burials. 

Pierce: A small family plot located in the northeast quarter of Section 5. 4 recorded burials but is covered by brush so there may be more stones hidden.

Located in Sections 19 and 20, about 1 mile south of Detroit. At least 900 recorded burials. 

Located in the southwest corner of the southeast quarter of Section 33, about 1/2 a mile northeast of Milton. 222 recorded burials. 

Located in Section 15, on top of a bluff just north of Florence. Stones were scattered and hard to read, some may be hidden. 14 recorded burials.

Located in the southwest corner of the southeast quarter of Section 32, on the north side of Highway 100, about 1 mile north of Milton. 349 recorded burials. 

Located just north of Douglas Cemetery in Section 33. Only 3 stones were visible though there are more burials because it had been bulldozed.

Located in the northwest quarter of Section 13 (not at the schoolhouse as indicated in plat books), on a hill about 1 mile northeast of the schoolhouse. Many stones scattered or hidden, at least 65 unmarked or missing their stone. 126 recorded burials.

A small family plot located in the northwest quarter of Section 3. About 30-40 burials though only 16 headstones and a few footstones were visible.

Located in the northwest quarter of Section 8, about 1/2 a mile southwest of Milton. This cemetery has some of the earliest recorded burials in the county. Around 250 recorded burials. 

Located in the northwest quarter of Section 33, about 4 miles south of Milton.  Accompanied by a small church. Over 1000 recorded burials. 

Located in the northwest quarter of Section 12. Most stones were standing, plus at least 15 more unmarked or marked by creek rocks. 64 recorded burials. 

Hatcher: Located in the southeast quarter of Section 22. Only 4 stones visible.

Jarboe: Located in the southeast quarter of Section 15. 3 recorded burials. 

Thurmon: Located in the northeast quarter of Section 21. 5 markers visible in an area enclosed by a concrete wall.

near French: There was once a small cemetery west of French that has been moved.

There is one more single burial. 

Located in the southwest quarter of Section 30, 1.5 miles south of Nebo. About 70 recorded burials.

Located in Section 8 about 1.5 miles northeast of Nebo. There may not be any visible stones. 20 recorded burials, according to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints library in Utah.

Located in the southeast quarter of Section 20, about 1 mile southeast of Nebo. There are at least 30 unmarked graves. About 75 recorded burials, plus those unmarked.

Located in Section 20, on the east side of Nebo. 656 recorded burials. 

Located in the northwest quarter of the northwest quarter of Section 16, about 1 mile northeast of Nebo. 16 recorded burials based on family history and courthouse records.

west of Nebo: Located in the northeast quarter of the northeast quarter of Section 24. Two stones surrounded by a concrete block wall.

Located in Section 20, about 1.5 miles southwest of El Dara. This is one of the earliest cemeteries in the county. Aunt Milly, "the colored mammy slave of Solomon Hornback," is buried here. Many stones are fallen or hidden. About 125 recorded burials.

Located in the northern bordering corners of Sections 10 and 11. 18 visible stones, one base without a stone, and several gaps and depressions in the ground where there are likely stones missing. One grave is marked by an unfinished and unnamed limestone slab and at least one other is marked by a creek rock. There may be many more burials at the back of the lot. There is a small related family plot to the south, the Moyers. One of their stones got moved to the Pursley fenceline and other stones are gone or hidden.

Located in the northeast quarter of the northwest quarter of Section 3. Very few stones were visible, most were fallen, buried or gone. 24 recorded burials.

Located in the center of Section 27. Was once accompanied by a schoolhouse. Many stones are missing or illegible. Around 700 recorded burials. 

Pleasant View: Located in Section 14. One single burial near Pleasant View school whose stone has disappeared.

Moyer: Located in Section 9, on Solomon Moyer's land in the 1872 plat book. Location and other information lost.
